Limonene

Aroma
Bright citrus, lemon and orange peel
Also found in
Citrus rinds, juniper, peppermint
Commonly associated with
Upbeat, mood-lifting experiences

Limonene is the zesty citrus note in strains like Super Lemon Haze and Mimosa. It is one of the most widely used terpenes in food and cleaning products for its fresh smell. People often associate limonene-forward strains with a brighter, more upbeat feel.

What it smells like

Bright citrus, lemon and orange peel. You'll also find it in Citrus rinds, juniper, peppermint.

Boiling point

About 348°F / 176°C. If you use a temperature-controlled vaporizer, terpenes vaporize at different points, which is one reason the same flower can taste different at different settings.

A note on terpenes and effects

Terpene research in cannabis is still young. Aromas are real; claims about specific effects are generalizations. The best guide is your own experience with a strain, starting low.
